The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) has awarded the 2011 High School Teacher of Excellence Award to Lake Oswego High School teacher Lisa Mitchell.

She is one of 15 high school teachers nationwide awarded this year.

This award recognizes and celebrates high school classroom teachers who are annually selected within each affiliate.

The award winner will be publicly announced as a recipient of the NCTE High School Teachers of Excellence Award at the NCTE annual convention held Nov. 19 in Chicago, Ill.
