Oregon's Mt. Hood Territory unveiled its new integrated web and mobile sites during National Tourism Week May 5-13 to partner Clackamas County with travel and tourism businesses in helping visitors more easily plan their stays and enjoy overall better experiences while in Mt. Hood Territory.
New website features include a 'Plan My Trip' tab on every page, allowing a person to easily create an itinerary and share it through social media outlets, as well as interactive mapping. A 'Book Your Stay' feature allows people to check availability and pricing, and ultimately book lodging directly through the Mt. Hood Territory website.
'Mobile Internet use has risen significantly in the past few years and continues to grow,' said Jeannine Breshears, Clackamas County marketing manager. 'The need for us to launch a dedicated mobile site, in addition to our new interactive website, was clear.'
The mobile site includes a 'What's Nearby' tab that pinpoints lodging, activities and restaurants closest to the mobile user utilizing a geo location system, as well as a calling function and mapping throughout the site. Smartphone users will be directed automatically to the mobile website when they navigate to MtHoodTerritory.com.
'We must stay current with today's technology,' said Danielle Cowan, executive director of Oregon's Mt. Hood Territory. 'New web and mobile sites were critical to fulfilling our mission to serve as the leading force in growing and sustaining tourism in Clackamas County.'
