Three escape early morning SE Portland house fire
One person was slightly injured early Tuesday morning as three people - including a person in a wheelchair - escaped a Southeast Portland house fire.
Portland Fire and Rescue officials said one of the home's residents who alerted other housemates to the fire was treated at the scene for minor burns.
All three people were able to get out of the large, two-story house at 5859 S.E. Harney Drive shortly after 5 a.m., when the fire apparently started in a bedroom.
Firefighters from Engine Company 25 and Truck Co. 25 (Woodstock) were sent to the blaze thinking at first that someone was trapped inside. When they arrived, all the residents had escaped the house.
The fire was confined to the bedroom. Investigators are trying to determine the cause and the estimate of damage done to the house.
An engine company from Clackamas County Fire District No. 1 assisted Portland Fire and Rescue fight the fire.
