Two alleged heroin dealers arrested
Special Enforcement Team arrested a heroin user, then found his supplier
The Gresham Police Special Enforcement Team arrested two heroin dealers Thursday, May 24, through leads from an earlier arrest of a heroin user.
Alexi Garcia Avila, 31, and Kevin Gonzalez Martinez, 24, both of Gresham, were charged with possession and delivery of heroin.
Police found Martinez in a sting operation: A user they had arrested earlier that day after executing a search warrant ordered more heroin from his supplier, said Sgt. Manuel Hernandez, with the Special Enforcement Team. When Martinez allegedly delivered heroin to 1101 S.W. Highland Drive at 4:20 p.m., police arrested him.
Martinez gave his address as 305 S.E. Linden Court and agreed to go back to the house, Hernandez said.
There, police found more drugs.
Police also found that Martinez's roommate, Avila, had an outstanding Multnomah County arrest warrant for soliciting prostitution. Avila was arrested on the warrant at 5:50 p.m.
Both Martinez and Avila are being detained at the Multnomah County jail on U.S. immigration holds.
