At Scappoose Middle School's first Career Day, students were given a glimpse into a number of potential futures.
More than 30 guest speakers gave talks on May 24 explaining the ins and outs of their chosen careers, from health care to law to the arts.
The special event was organized in part by SMS counselor Whitney Scott as a reaction to one of the most common issues on the forefront of her students' minds: their future.
Throughout the day, students rotated through presentations on a handful of chosen disciplines they picked as their favorites.
Scott said the career groups kids were most enthused about were arts and media, military and health care.
As LAIKA studio animator Kyle Bell described his industry to students in the gymnasium, Principal Pam Reynolds spoke on the importance of helping kids create a post-graduation roadmap.
It's a bonus most seemed to be having a great time, she said.
'I think they are really enjoying it,' Reynolds said.
