Staff assigned, parents to meet
More than just a brick-and mortar-building, the school district is working on building Trillium Creek Primary School's first community. Teachers were reassigned from other schools in the West Linn-Wilsonville School District this month, and parents met together for the first time last week.
Charlotte Morris, the long-time principal at Boeckman Creek Primary School in Wilsonville, will be the new principal.
Teachers will shift along with students to a new home at Trillium Creek. Boeckman Creek in Wilsonville will shift the most staff - six teachers. Additionally, Sunset will lose five teachers, Willamette and Cedaroak Park will each lose two and Boones Ferry in Wilsonville will lose one teacher.
Bolton and Stafford primaries are not contributing any teachers to Trillium Creek, however a number of other staffing shifts will occur at all schools this year as a result of the opening of Trillium Creek and Lowrie Primary School, the new school opening in Wilsonville this fall.
Sunset, Cedaroak Park and Stafford will also contribute new staff to Lowrie.
Trillium Creek, which has a capacity of 500 students, will open with 450. Boundaries have been redrawn to move students from all the West Linn schools. They can be found at: http://www.wlwv.k12.or.us/Page/877.
Trillium Creek will alleviate strain on the student populations at other schools. Willamette Primary School, which has been overcapacity, will go from a student population of 625 to 450. Sunset will go will go from 409 students to 290 students. Cedaroak Park and Stafford, which have both been at the capacity limit, will each lose about 100 students and have 310 and 410, respectively. Bolton will lose the fewest students, going from 269 to 250.
A PTA affiliation meeting will be held at Rosemont Ridge Middle School's Alder Porch on Monday, June 12 at 6:30 p.m.
