Ducks win, Beavers lose in Saturday baseball

College baseball games involving Oregon and Oregon State went according to form on Saturday.
The Oregon Ducks beat Cal State Fullerton 7-5 at UO's PK Park, while No. 2-ranked LSU downed Oregon State 7-1 in Baton Rouge, La.
The Ducks are one win from winning their NCAA regional. Oregon (44-17 overall, 2-0 in the tournament), which drew the fifth seed nationally, will play Fullerton or Austin Peay at 4 p.m. Sunday in Eugene.
Fullerton and Austin Peay will meet at noon. Austin Peay eliminated Indiana State 1-0 on Saturday.
The Beavers (39-19) face an elimination game at 11:30 p.m. PT Sunday against Louisiana-Monroe. If they win, they would meet LSU again, needing to beat the Tigers twice Sunday night. The first game would start at 4:30 p.m.
Oregon had enough offense on Saturday to help senior right-hander Alex Keudell become the school's career leader in wins. The former Jesuit High pitcher improved to 11-4 this season and get his 23rd career victory. He went seven innings, allowing five runs on five hits, with five strikeouts and four walks.
Jimmie Sherfy got his 18th save with two innings of scoreless relief.
Oregon scored four runs in the first inning, getting a two-RBI triple from Kyle Garlick, and led 6-0 before the Titans (36-20) produced a five-run fifth.
The Ducks added a run on two Fullerton errors in the bottom of the eighth.
Oregon State trailed throughout Saturday's LSU game after giving up a one run in the second inning.
OSU's Ryan Dunn brought the Beavers to within 2-1 in the third with his RBI single.
The Tigers (45-16) got two runs in the bottom of the third off starter Dan Child (6-4) and were never headed.
