Hatchet attack sends man to hospital, another to jail

A 58-year-old Milwaukie man was arrested Sunday afternoon in connection with a hatchet attack that injured his 60-year-old brother.

Milwaukie police said Don Fred Stoll was lodge in the Clackamas County Jail and charged with second-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

Police said officers were called at about 4 p.m. to a domestic disturbance at 8726 S.E. 42nd Ave. A person who called emergency dispatchers reported a fight between adult brothers. During the fight, one of the brothers allegedly struck the other with a hatchet.

Russell Stoll sustained non-life threatening injuries to his right arm requiring medical treatment at Providence Milwaukie Hospital.
