Bikini Barista robbery ends with struggle, arrests

A BB gun, bikinis and coffee don't mix well, as two people arrested for robbery Sunday afternoon discovered.
Portland police said 32-year-old Donny Roy Hizey and 42-year-old Jennifer Tsouvas were being held in the Multnomah County Jail on robbery charges after they were accused of holding up the Bikini Barista Coffee shop, 8102 N.E. Killingsworth St.
Hizey was charged with second-degree robbery. Tsouvas was charged with second-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, assaulting a public safety officer and resist arrest.
Officers from the North Precinct were called at about 2:37 p.m. to the coffee shop on reports of two people in a older white sedan had just robbed the business. A police sergeant arrived and spotted the white sedan driving erratically west on Killingsworth Street. The car then turned south into an apartment complex in the 6900 block of Killingsworth Street, where both occupants, a white woman and a white man, fled on foot.
The man scaled a fence attempting to evade capture. The woman attempted to scale the fence but was pulled off by the sergeant and arrested.
The sergeant drew his weapon and pointed it at the man while holding the woman on the ground. Police said the woman began to struggle with the sergeant, causing him to holster his handgun and handcuff her. The man remained on the opposite side of the fence and obeyed police commands not to move.
After the arrest, investigators recovered money from the shop and a victim's purse that was taken. A BB gun allegedly used in the robbery was also recovered from the suspects' vehicle.
The police sergeant was treated at the scene for minor injuries suffered during the struggle. His name was not released.
