Timbers lose on road again

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Two first-half goals by Graham Zusi catapulted Sporting Kansas City to an easy 3-1 victory over the Portland Timbers in an MLS match Wednesday night.

Suzi scored in the 25th and 40th minutes at Livestrong Sporting Park, where the announced attendance was 15,271.

Eight minutes after a 73rd-minute goal by Sporting's Soony Saad, Bright Dike scored for Portland. It was Dike's first goal in MLS, and it gave defender Rodney Wallace his first assist of the season.

Kansas City improved to 7-7-9 (33 points), while the Timbers dropped to 7-12-5 (26 points). Portland is 1-8-3 on the road.

The Timbers' next match is 7 p.m. Saturday against the Vancouver Whitecaps at Jeld-Wen Field.
