Police search NE neighborhood for armed robbers

Portland's Special Emergency Reaction Team spent part of Thursday morning searching a northeast neighborhood for two armed men who robbed a person on the street.

SERT members were called in after the robbery was reported at about 6:12 a.m. near Northeast 109th Avenue and Halsey Street. Police were told that two black men armed with at least one handgun robbed the victim at gunpoint then fled into the neighborhood.

Officers fanned out across the neighborhood from Northeast Halsey to Glisan and 109th to 114th avenues searching for the two men. Both Halsey and Glisan are open to traffic.

Police asked that residents of the area stay indoors and report any suspicious activity.
