Police investigate gang-related shots fired incident
No one hurt but juveniles detained
Police are investigating an early Sunday gang related shooting in East Portland.
No one was hurt in the incident, which occurred near an apartment complex at 12610 E. Burnside.
According to police, at 12:52 a.m. on Aug. 21, officers assigned to East Precinct responded to a call of a shooting in the area of 126th Avenue and East Burnside Street. Information was broadcast that a group of black males were fleeing the area after firing shots close to nearby apartments.
The officers and Multnomah County Sheriff's Office deputies arrived in the area and contacted several people near Northeast 126th Avenue and Glisan Street. They learned that several gang associates arrived at a party at an apartment on Burnside, creating a disturbance. Multiple shots were fired but there were no reported injuries or property damage.
Police detained Christopher Jordan, 19, Demetrius Ray Brown, 17, and Aronte Kerney, 17, on probation violations. No arrests were made as a result of the shooting and no firearms have been recovered.
