Cassie Abney and Mr. C take fourth in the world

First trip to the world competition is successful, and she hopes it isn't her last

Estacada's own Cassie Abney recently returned from the Palomino Horse Breeders of America World Show in Tulsa, Okla., where she took fourth place in the world.

Earlier in June, Abney was trying to raise enough money to compete and, after reaching her goal, she took her horse, Mr. C, across the country. The two competed in the halter competition.

'The prize I won was a trophy and the title of fourth in the world,' Abney said, 'and since there isn't a lot of competition locally, we like to show against the big guys.'

After their first trip to the world show, Abney said that if lack of money is not an obstacle, they'll be back there in the future.
