Ernie Platt named chamber's top volunteer

Ernie Platt was announced as the Rohn Bly Volunteer of the Year award last week for his wide-ranging work on boards with local organizations like the Homebuilders Association, Sunrise Water, the city of Damascus, among others.

"I got to do what I truly love doing, and it doesn't get better than that," he said.

The Eastside Athletic Club, Dr. Ed Hacmac and Bert Cranston were also among the honorees recognized June 26 at the North Clackamas County Chamber of Commerce's Annual Awards Banquet.

They are the 2012 Business of the Year, Business Person of the Year and Irwin Adams Lifetime Achievement Award Winners.

"Takin' Care of Business" was the theme of the evening at Grey Gables in Milwaukie, sponsored by Adventist Health.
