U.S. Army PV2 Timothy D. Wootan completed 10 weeks of basic combat training Jan. 19 at Fort Jackson, S.C.

Following, he went on to advanced individual training at the U.S. Army Intelligence School at Fort Huachuca, Ariz. Enrolled in a 16-week Intelligence Analyst Course, classes included intelligence operations and studies, map reading and analysis, information systems, battle planning, briefing skills and symbology.

On May 10, he graduated at Fort Huachuca with several family members in attendance. He will be stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash., until deployment this summer.

A 2011 graduate of Scappoose High School, he is the son of Rick Wootan, Shelley Wootan and stepdad Ken Abel.
