OC hoopsters finish 41-9
Oregon City High School's top summer girls basketball team, Oregon City Black, finished the summer with an overall record of 41-9.
The team capped off the summer season winning three of five games in the MSMN Elite Bracket of an invitational tournament held July 28-31 in San Diego.
The team placed fourth in the National Division of the Music City Madness Tournament, held in Nashville July 22-25.
Johanna Paine was the Pioneers' leading scorer (16 ppg) and rebounder (7 rpg) for the summer. The 6-0 junior post averaged 58 percent shooting from the field.
Junior point guard Montana Walters averaged a team-leading 5.6 assists.
Jenae Paine averaged 43 percent shooting from 3-point land. Marcie Lugar (2.1 steals per game) was the defensive leader.
