Muddy Boot Festival returns for sixth run
Event celebrates sustainable themes
The sixth-annual Muddy Boot Festival, a celebration of sustainable living, takes place Sept. 9 to 11 at St. Philip Neri Church on Division Street and Southeast 16th Avenue in Portland.
The event kicks off Friday, Sept. 9, with a 7 p.m. keynote address by Joel Makower, author of the book 'Strategies for the Green Economy.'
There's a full array of musical groups performing the rest of the weekend, along with panel discussions and workshops on goat and chicken keeping, envirofuels, kombucha, alternative medicine, and other topics. There's also children's activities and a square dance.
The festival takes place from noon to 9 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
