Regina C. Bloom
Regina C. Bloom of Warren died Aug. 17, 2011. She was 89.
Regina was born in Joplin, Mo., to Thomas and Jennie Duggan.
At a young age she moved to Oregon, and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1941.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Lawrence; sons, Wade (Cheryl) and Mark (Jenny); and grandchildren, Laura and Steven.
A memorial service was held Aug. 21 at Plymouth Presbyterian Church in St. Helens.
Interment was at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the American Heart Association.
Helen Kent of St. Helens died Aug. 22, 2011. She was 88.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at Sunset Park Community Church in St. Helens.
Committal will be at Belcrest Memorial Park in Salem.
Donna J. Kneeland of St. Helens died Aug. 22, 2011. She was 81.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, at First United Methodist Church in St. Helens.
Charles R. Roy
Charles Ralph Roy of St. Helens passed away Aug. 17, 2011, at his home. He was 58.
Mr. Roy was born March 22, 1953, in Newark, N.J., to Francis Joseph and Dorothy Anne (Knott) Roy, and was the fourth of seven children.
Raised in Hackettstown, N.J., he graduated from Hackettstown High School in 1971. During high school he lettered in football all four years, was a varsity player and a member of the state championship team for those four years.
He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in liberal arts from the University of Alaska, Anchorage.
Employed in construction, he later started a computer program termed the Almers Project for the federal government, which he received awards for.
Offered a position at the Bureau of Land Management, he worked there for 22 years.
Loving music, he was active in several bands, including The Flock. An accomplished musician, he played many instruments, including the guitar, bass and drums.
He is survived by his daughter, Amber Sanchez and her husband Mark of St. Helens; first grandchild soon to be born; and siblings, Butch Roy, Sandy Poolas, Sue Armstrong, Dorothy Taylor, Jeff Roy and Jackie Roy, all of New Jersey.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, at Kells Irish Restaurant and Pub, 112 S.W. Second Ave., Portland.
