UPDATE: Scappoose man injured after Highway 30 crash

A 71-year-old Scappoose man was injured Thursday morning after he abruptly drove off Highway 30 in Warren, curved back across the highway and crashed next to the railroad tracks.
Investigators are working to determine the events that led to Loren A. Klepper being hospitalized for non-life threatening injuries.
The highway was closed for a short time, but reopened after a LifeFlight helicopter took the injured man to OHSU.
Reports say that around 11:23 a.m. on Aug. 25, a 2006 Subaru driven by Klepper was traveling northbound on Highway 30 when, for still unknown reasons, it crossed over the southbound lanes, through the front parking lot of the Warren General Store near Church Road and back across the highway. The vehicle rolled onto its side near the tracks.
It's unknown at this time if Klepper was using a seatbelt.
