There is still one last chance to enjoy a summer evening of music, food and art at the Beaverton Arts Commissions eighth-annual Beaverton Last Tuesday concert series. Keegan Smith and The Fam wraps up the outdoor concert series on Tuesday, Aug. 30, from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Round at Beaverton Central's Fountain Plaza, 12600 Crescent Street, adjacent to the Beaverton Central light rail station.
'Although thoughts of school may be on the minds of many, it is still summer, and what a way to wrap things up for our Beaverton Last Tuesday concert series,' said Mayor Dennis Doyle. 'Come to The Round for Beaverton Last Tuesdays and enjoy a summer night of great music, delicious cuisine and fabulous local art.'
Keegan Smith and The Fam, is described as an eclectic mix of musicians, producers, and bandleaders from the Northwest's music scene. Together, they create an energetic and entertaining sound that's been known to captivate audiences of all ages.
The band took home the award for Best Live Performance in the 2011 Portland Music Awards, and four of Smith's songs will appear on the soundtrack to the new movie 'The Frankenstein Brothers.'
The event features artwork by local artists, and is available for purchase. Artwork includes: jewelry, fused glass, pastel, jewelry, paintings and photography. Local restaurants Typhoon!, Mio Sushi and Mingo's offer both indoor and outdoor dining.
To make the night a true celebration of the arts, Valley Square Dancers will perform both square and round dancing.
