Man hurt, shots fired in MAX platform fight near Lents
Several shots were fired but no one was seriously injured Thursday night when two men had a disagreement on the Southeast Foster Road MAX platform.
Portland police said a 28-year-old man cut himself during a struggle with another man on the MAX Green Line platform. Police were unable to find the other man, who rode away on a bicycle, witnesses said.
The incident delayed MAX Green Line trains during the police search.
Officers said that about 9:31 p.m., the 28-year-old victim was sitting on the west side of the MAX platform waiting for the train when the suspect rode up on a bicycle. The victim told police that the suspect wanted to listen to the victims headphones and when the victim refused, the suspect pulled a handgun and fired shots toward the victim. The victim grabbed the suspect and they struggled, injuring his arm.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his mid-20s, wearing a white T-shirt and shorts, black baseball hat backwards, riding a black BMX bicycle last seen southbound on Southeast 92nd Avenue.
