Knife attack kills one person, closes three schools

One person was killed and three Lake Oswego schools were locked down Monday morning after a knife attack at a house on Atwater Road.

Clackamas County sheriff's deputies have not released the name of the victim in the attack. Sheriff's office detectives are investigating the incident.

The home invasion attack was reported at about 6:30 a.m. at a residence on Atwater Road near Atwater Lane in an unincorporated portion of Clackamas County near Lake Oswego.

The suspect fled after attacking one of the residents.

The suspect is described as skinny white man about 6 feet tall with a brown beard. He was wearing a head wrap and light clothing. Deputies said he was armed with edged weapons.

Lake Oswego High School, Lake Oswego Junior High and Forest Hills Elementary School were locked down as a precaution during the search for the suspect.
