Students giddyup on ponies and hay bales at the Stafford Stampede

The 14th annual event was Sept. 7

by: VERN UYETAKE - Luke Foster and his daughter, Molly Rose Foster, 2, have fun on the pony rides. Stafford Primary School celebrated its 14th annual Stafford Stampede on Sept. 7.

The back-to-school family fun tradition featured carnival games, hayrides, a bouncy house, pony rides and hamburgers and hot dogs from the West Linn Lions Club.

Some families dressed like John Wayne in cowboy boots and hats, others wore jeans and T-shirts.

After the last pony ride and hayride, after the last charbroil bite of a hamburger and after the last bounce in the inflatable castle, the sun set and students were welcomed — the good ol’ cowboy way — back to school.
