Event planned Sept. 22 in Boring

Family members from the Cloud Cap Holstein dairy in Boring have a little fun, while a 4-month-old Holstein calf gets a little TLC. Pictured, from left, are the late Arnold Moore Jr.'s daughter, Linda Parker, and Moore's granddaughters, Beth Sherer and Meagan Lancaster.

A lifelong Boring resident, Moore died in 2004 of ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Sherer has organized what she is calling a "cure-a-oke" fundraiser leading up to the annual ALS walk in Portland.

The Boring event will be held during the evening Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Timber Pub and Grub, 28052 Highway 212 in downtown Boring.

The activity raises funds when people order food or drinks or play karaoke-type games.

Food and beverages are available whenever people arrive, and the karaoke games begin at 8 p.m.

For more information, call Lancaster at 503-238-5559, ext. 2.
