Bruce Plato, principal at Lake Oswego High School, has informed staff and parents that he plans to retire at the end of the 2012-13 school year. by: SUBMITTED - Bruce Plato

Plato was recruited by the district from Portland Public Schools in 2002 and is in his 11th year as LOHS principal.

Plato is “regarded as an exceptional leader and relationship builder who has led LOHS through a decade of growth, momentum and achievement,” noted a release from Nancy Duin, director of communications for the district.

Knowing of Plato’s plans early in the school year will provide time to plan for a successful transition for one of the key leadership roles in the district. The district will be communicating the approach to appoint a successor next week.
