Lewis & Clark trailed 10-0 with less than two minutes remaining in the first half Saturday, then scored 41 unanswered points to beat visiting Macalester 41-17 at Griswold Stadium.
The Pioneers improved to 3-0 with their 10th win in their past 12 games, counting last year's 7-2 season.
Macalester, from St. Paul, Minn., fell to 3-1.
The Pios finished with the edge in offense, 394 yards to 292.
L&C junior quarterback Keith Welch passed for 312 yards and two touchdowns, completing 24 of 35.
Macalester drove 47 yards in seven plays to take a 7-0 lead 4:45 into the game, and made the score 10-0 with a 24-yard field goal at 13:34 of the second quarter.
Welch ran 1 yard for the Pioneers' first score, cutting the gap to 10-7 with 1:49 left in the half. The run capped a 10-play, 73-yard drive.
Welch hit Evan Stanbro for a 38-yard TD with 31 seconds left in the second quarter, boosting the Pios to a 13-10 lead.
Lewis & Clark scored early in the third quarter on Curtis Shirey's 6-yard run, which completed a 10-play, 51-yard march.
Midway through the third quarter, Welch went 2 yards as the Pios went 68 yards in six plays to take a 27-10 lead.
With 1:04 left in the period, Welch hooked up with Nico Ohland for a 25-yard TD play, finishing a nine-play, 80-yard drive.
The Pioneers' final touchdown came on Josh Cena's 56-yard interception return with 5:01 left in the game.
Macalester scored its final TD with 1:26 left.
Lewis & Clark will open its Northwest Conference season on Saturday, Sept. 29, travelin to Puget Sound for a 1 p.m. game.
