Tigard youth football team gets win over Wilsonville

The third/fourth-grade squad moves to 3-0 with its 26-0 victory

TIGARD – The Tigard third/fourth-grade White youth football team moved to 3-0 on the season after scoring a 26-0 home win over Wilsonville on Saturday.

After fumbling the opening kickoff the Tigers fired on all cylinders; scoring touchdowns the first two times they touched the ball on offense. Alex Copeland and the offensive line paved the way for all of the running backs to have big days. Offensively, the day was highlighted by a beautiful fade pass to the corner of the end zone from Brett Moss to Ben Bazzel for the final score of the day.

The Tigard defense came to play again stymieing the Wildcat offense from the opening whistle to the ending horn. The defensive tackles including Brayden Hoggans, Demetrius Porcelli and Spencer Nelson clogged the middle allowing the linebackers, defensive ends and defensive backfield to make big plays all afternoon.

Standout performances included tough running by Lincoln Woodhouse, great special teams play by Atticus Waddell, Hayden McCanna and Aidan Ryan and a couple bone-jarring hits by Jake Alton and Austin Goetz.

The Tigers will be back in action this Saturday when they travel to play at Lincoln Red.
