Banks students turning into superheroes for homecoming
From The Avengers to The Incredibles, Banks High School students are donning capes to celebrate homecoming week
Dont be surprised if you see one of the X-Men or even Elastigirl roaming the hallways of Banks High School this week.
Thats because students have selected a superheroes theme for their celebration of Homecoming 2012, said Activities Director and social studies teacher Ben Buchanan.
Seniors will dress up as characters from the Justice League. Juniors will
imitate The Avengers. Sophomores will attempt to resemble the X-Men, and freshmen The Incredibles, as the week progresses.
Members of the Homecoming Court were announced during a tapping ceremony Monday. They include freshman princess Jaden Smith, sophomore princess Tori Schmidlin, junior princess Lauren Birr and senior princesses Maddison Kellas, Aubrey Rue and Chelsea Dunthorn.
Tappers were freshman Hunter Hayes, sophomore Haen Waters, junior Connor Kuehl and seniors Graysen Partain, Neal Olson and Matt Borchers.
The annual parade will follow the BHS Homecoming assembly on Friday at 1:20 p.m. The big game against Seaside is set for 7 p.m. that night, and a Sadie Hawkins Homecoming dance is set for Saturday, Oct. 6 from 7 to 10 p.m. in the high school wrestling room.
