Teen Lounge visits Fright Town

Event and activities with LO Parks and Rec


Once a month, the Lake Oswego Parks & Recreation's Teen Lounge offers a full night of fun with its Friday night excursions. Teens will meet at the McKenzie Lounge in the West End Building, then head out for an evening of fun. This Friday test your nerves and see if you can stomach all three haunted houses at the famous Fright Town beneath the Memorial Coliseum. Space is limited, so register early. Explore Art: Bob Ross Oil Painting-Chrysanthemums
This easy step-by-step class takes beginners to seasoned painters. You will go from a blank canvas to a finished masterpiece in one class. All supplies provided. Students may bring a snack or beverage. Physically challenged students welcome. Age 12 and older, Oct. 22, 5:30 to 9 p.m. $50.

Get Active: Line Dancing-Beginning II
This class is for those that have taken line dance classes or have previous instruction and are stomping for new dances and a little challenge. This class is sure to be a Heehaw of a time! Age 14 and older, Oct. 26 to Nov.16, 6 to 7 p.m. $39.

Muscle Release with a Foam Roller
Foam rollers are proven to be effective in releasing tight muscles, improving body awareness and increasing core strength and stability. Everyone from the physically active to those more sedentary can benefit from this class. Bring a yoga mat and roller if you have one. Rollers can be purchased at class for $20. Age 18 and older, Oct. 27, 10 a.m. to noon. $35.

Ross Island Tour
Go paddling in your own backyard! You can even ride your bike to our new location and make it a no driving recreational day! We will leave from the boat house dock along the Eastside Esplanade near South East Water and Clay streets and explore the backwaters of the Willamette River between Ross Island and Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge. Choose optional pricing depending on age. Age 10 and older, Oct. 28, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. $25 age 10 to 15, $39 age 16 and older.

Experience Fall at Luscher Farm: Pumpkin Carving
Why make the mess at home? Come to Luscher Farm and join the fun as you munch on pumpkin seeds, cut open pumpkins, scrape out the goodies and create the coolest pumpkin using pumpkins grown on the farm. One adult per child required. Age 6 and older, Oct. 27, 11 a.m. to noon. $10.

Autumn Wreath Class
Since ancient times the wreath — a simple circle of leaves, boughs or flowers — has served as a symbol of honor, faith or celebration. A wreath of golden wheat, mini pumpkins or cornhusks celebrates the harvest. Learn how to decorate your home indoors or out with a beautiful handmade wreath. Age 16 and older, Oct. 27, 2 to 4 p.m. $30.
