There is a sharp jog in Woodstock Boulevard at S.E. 69th Avenue, and homeowners there have placed a series of large boulders across the front of their properties to stop cars that fail to make the curve.
Those came in handy on the early morning of Thursday, August 11th, when a car speeding from a discontinued police pursuit in Lents, after blowing the light at 82nd, barreled down Woodstock at high speed and missed that jog.
The vehicle wound up atop one of those big rocks, and police captured the driver a block away; his passenger remained in the car.
There were outstanding warrants on the driver, and reportedly alcohol may also have been a factor in the incident.
