Show all your friends that youre a real magnet after all

'The Insult That Made a Man out of Mac' also makes for a cool set of magnets. Milwaukie-based Dark Horse Comics recently rolled out a set of magnets featuring the Charles Atlas bodybuilding ad that ran in countless comic books from the 1950s through the 1970s. A synopsis: A bully kicks sand in the face of the weakling Mac, Mac's girlfriend derides him ('Oh, don't let it bother you, little boy!'), Mac buffs up the Charles Atlas way and lands a solid jab to the bully's chin. The Dark Horse magnet collection features the ad's seven panels, as well as a depiction of Atlas, 'the World's Most Perfectly Developed Man,' himself. 'This is probably the most parodied ad ever,' points out Charlie Boucher, owner of Counter Media, which carries the magnets at its 927 S.W. Oak St. outlet. Adds Dark Horse spokeswoman Sarah Holliday: 'The great thing is, Charles Atlas really was a 97-pound weakling.'
