What did the Ducks learn from the first four games?
They learned that offense and QB Jason Fife are explosive and inconsistent. Too many times, the Ducks stunted drives with dropped passes, overthrown passes, penalties or fumbles.
But all can be forgotten when Onterrio Smith beautifully tiptoes through four tacklers and Samie Parker leaps between two, as they did for touchdowns against Portland State.
It isn't too early to say the Pac-10's best defenses reside in the state of Oregon. Can Pac-10 teams exploit Oregon defensive backs Aaron Gipson and Steven Moore? I don't see any other areas of concern on the Ducks 'D.'
And, right now, kicker Jared Siegel has to be an All-American candidate and punter Jose Arroyo among the Pac-10's best.
