Oregon State has some momentum going into this game, having won four of its last five, including the impressive rout of Oregon. Pittsburgh lost its last two, though one was a 28-21 defeat at Miami. The biggest margin of victory in the Panthers' last six games has been eight points Ñ a 14-6 loss at Notre Dame.
This shouldn't be a blowout.
Pitt's multiple-option offense has moved the ball well most of the season. The Panthers' defense will line up in the gaps to try to thwart Jackson and force OSU to pass. It could wind up being another big day for Beaver receiver James Newson, who deserved better than all-conference honorable mention after catching 64 passes for 1,119 yards and 11 touchdowns. Both teams are good. I see the Beavers as being a little better.
THE PICK: Oregon State 28, Pittsburgh 20
