The sidebar to a story in the Aug. 31 edition of the News-Times erred in its reporting of survey numbers dealing with Oregon high school elective offerings.
An informal survey of 70 high schools with enrollments over 1,000, completed last week by Forest Grove resident and school district parent Deb Bratland, actually found that Forest Grove High is one of seven (not the only) of those large high schools to offer just one foreign language. FGHS is, according to Bratland, the only high school in the state with a student body larger than 1,600 to offer just one foreign language option.
