As if No. 1 Oregon City needed a boost, only three other ranked teams are in the top half of the 16-team bracket: No. 5 Glencoe, No. 6 Sheldon and No. 9 Central Catholic. Meanwhile, six ranked teams will duke it out in the bottom half for the right to finish second in this week's Class 4A girls basketball state tournament.
Oregon City's closest game this season was a 51-39 win over No. 7 Lake Oswego two weeks ago. The Pioneers won the state title last year, defeating their four tournament opponents by an average of 20 points.
Count on No. 3 Jesuit to win a trophy Ñ the Crusaders have won five in the last six years. And count on Oregon City to win the title, probably over Lake Oswego in the final.
