Festival still expects Rose fleet to come in

A contingent of ships from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Navy and Coast Guard is still counted on to show up in Portland for the Rose Festival, said Dick Clark, the festival's executive director.

However, he said Rose Festival officials soon will meet with the festival's executive committee and its board of directors as well as law enforcement personnel about the extent to which the conflict in Iraq might affect the June festival.
