Designer Bar Kocva curates an exhibit of work by Israeli artists. The handcrafted pieces include Judaica, jewelry, ceramics and paintings. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Mittleman Jewish Community Center.

Film producer and author Stephen Simon makes a stop in Portland on his national speaking tour, 'The Force Is With You: Mystical Messages That Inspire Our Lives.' A longtime Hollywood insider, Simon uses film clips to discuss the spiritual themes in movies ranging from 'It's a Wonderful Life' to 'The Matrix' and 'The Sixth Sense.' Proceeds benefit the center's Stage House Project.

Portland dancer Linda K. Johnson and New York-based Shelley Senter give postmodern dance the royal treatment. The duo explores vintage and contemporary works by significant postmodern choreographers, including 'Trio A' by Yvonne Rainer. Pieces by Trisha Brown, Remy Charlip, Bebe Miller and Johnson also will be performed.

ZOO / New baby duiker

With spring in the air and Easter imminent, thoughts naturally turn to cute, fluffy animals. Among other delights for the eyes and ears, the Oregon Zoo has a too-adorable-to-believe baby red-flanked duiker on display. Duikers (pronounced 'die-kurs') are members of the antelope family and are native to sub-Saharan Africa. The new calf is about the size of a rabbit Ñ hippety-hop!
