What: United States Blind Golf Association's 36-hole national championship

When: Sept. 23-24

Where: OGA Members Course, Woodburn

Background: The association was founded in 1953. It has about 50 members in the division for totally blind players and 100 in two divisions for visually impaired golfers. Lions Clubs International supports the organization's golf tournaments. The Oregon Lions Sight & Hearing Foundation is playing host to this year's U.S. Open, as well as a Sept. 22 benefit at Willamette Valley Country Club, where teams of four will play 18 holes with an association golfer.
