Corps of Engineers office
has new commander
Brig. Gen. William Grisoli is the new commander and division engineer of the northwestern division of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, based in Portland.
Grisoli oversees 5,200 employees and $2 billion of civil, military and environmental programs in the Columbia and Missouri river basins. He previously was stationed at the Pentagon, where he was deputy director of the Army Transformation Office.
Grisoli graduated from the U.S. Military Academy and earned master's degrees in civil engineering from the University of Illinois and in natural resource strategy from the National Defense University.
Tonkon Torp hires CEO
in first for Portland
A leader in the legal community nationally has joined Tonkon Torp LLP as chief executive officer, the first CEO of a law firm in Portland.
Robert Hirshon is the immediate past president of the American Bar Association and is known internationally as a writer and speaker, as well as a lawyer.
The head of Tonkon Torp's managing board of partners, Kenneth Stephens, said Hirshon would focus on 'the management and growth of our practice.' Hirshon was a shareholder in the firm Drummond, Woodsum & MacMahon PA of Portland, Maine.
Architect promoted
to principal at Sera
Sera Architects has promoted its public projects studio design leader, Kurt Schultz, to principal.
Schultz's work emphasizes sustainable practices and innovative designs. His current projects include leading the firm's work on the Union Gospel Mission Lifechange Center and the Memorial Coliseum Re-Use Study, and remodeling and expanding First Presbyterian Church in Corvallis.
Good Samaritan names
new site administrator
Kathie Dias has been promoted to Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital & Medical Center's site administrator.
Dias, a registered nurse, will be in charge of strategic and operational issues for the hospital, and she'll be vice president for patient care services and nursing. She has served as director and vice president of various departments, including patient care services and medical records.
She replaces Martha Wangenstein, who retired.

selects vice president
OIA Global Logistics, a Portland-based international freight forwarder and logistics provider, has promoted Larry Marshall to vice president of global sales and marketing.
Marshall has been OIA's director of global sales and marketing for the last three years. OIA is part of the Yoshida Group.
VOA hires former
Intel, Blazers executive
Volunteers of America Oregon has hired Christee Sweeney as director of development and communications.
Sweeney previously worked for Intel Corp.; she was on its Oregon public affairs team and was responsible for community grants, sponsorship programs and related marketing efforts. Before that, Sweeney was director of communications for the Portland Trail Blazers/Oregon Arena Corp.
Shari's installs new
marketing VP
David Archer has been hired as vice president of marketing for Beaverton-based Shari's Management Corp.
Archer will oversee advertising, marketing and public relations for Shari's restaurants. He most recently was Lazerquick Printing's marketing director.
