A hit-and-run collision late Friday night that knocked down two utility poles has closed Skyline Boulevard for the next 12 hours.
Portland police said the road would be closed from Northwest Germantown to Springville roads to allow Portland General Electric to replace the poles and repair power lines.
Police said the accident happened at about 11:53 p.m. in the 6900 block of Northwest Skyline Boulevard. Officers found a four-door 1993 Honda with heavy damage and two utility poles knocked down. The driver and occupants of the vehicle were gone when police arrived.
A witness told the police the driver was about 5-foot-10, an unknown race with a medium build, wearing a T-shirt and baggy shorts.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
