CHESTER, Pa. - A 0-0 tie at Philadelphia on Saturday gave the Portland Timbers a point in the MLS standings.

The Union had there shots on goal, as Portland's Troy Perkins earned his seventh shutout. His biggest save came on a second-half shot by Philly forward Danny Mwanga, from Jefferson High. Philadelphia also had a late shot by Kyle Nakazawa go off the crossbar.

Portland had one shot on goal, by Kenny Cooper, who took four of the Timbers' seven shots.

The Timbers are 9-12-6 (33 points) going into their next match, 8 p.m. Friday, against New England at Jeld-Wen Field.
