Two people were slightly injured in a Saturday afternoon house fire.
Portland Fire and Rescue said a man and woman who lived at 12120 S.E. Ankeny St. suffered smoke inhalation. The man also had a laceration on his hand. The woman had minor burns. Both were treated at Portland Adventist Hospital for their injuries.
Firefighters were called to the house at about 3:51 p.m., where they found a fire in the kitchen. The residents had fled the house and were using a garden hose to fight the fire.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and provided medical attention to the family of three adults and five children. The Red Cross Disaster Action Team is assisting the family.
