THE MATCHUP: Southern Cal and Oregon State are 1-2 in many of the Pac-10's statistical categories, including scoring offense, passing offense and total offense. This will be a true test for the Beavers' conference-leading defense. USC's emerging freshman tailback, LenDale White, has 694 yards rushing for a 5.6-yard average and 12 touchdowns, and QB Matt Leinart ranks second in the conference behind OSU's Derek Anderson in average passing yardage and total offense. Beaver tailback Steven Jackson continues to lead the Pac-10 in rushing (1,334 yards, 14 TDs) but will be hard-pressed to notch his ninth 100-yard game of the season. The game features two of the top receivers in the league in USC's Mike Williams (80 catches for 1,167 yards and 14 TDs) and OSU's James Newson (68 catches for 1,145 yards and two scores). Williams caught 11 passes for 181 yards and two TDs against UCLA Ñ and didn't play in the second half.
