Local teen to earn Eagle Scout Award on Sunday

A member of Troop 213, Forest Grove, Hoggins earned 21 Merit Badges and successfully complete a community leadership service project

Jeffrey Robert Hoggins, Jr., 18, of Forest Grove, has earned the Eagle Scout Award from the Boy Scouts of America and will be recognized in a ceremony at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18 at the Forest Grove Community Auditorium.

A member of Troop 213, Forest Grove, Hoggins earned 21 Merit Badges and successfully complete a community leadership service project with the Friends of Historic Forest Grove in removing 42 tons of concrete and 2 tons of garbage and blackberry vines from a dump site on the historic A.T. Smith House property, the oldest residence in Forest Grove, located just east of Highway 47.

A senior at Forest Grove High School, he is the son of Jeffrey Hoggins, Sr., and Kate Hoggins of Forest Grove.
