Lakers celebrate homecoming

by: SUBMITTED PHOTO - Lake Oswego High School Homecoming court.Lake Oswego High School is celebrating homecoming this week. The homecoming court was announced at an assembly Tuesday and the traditional homecoming parade will be held Friday at 2 p.m. down A Avenue, beginning at 10th Street and continuing to Second Street.

Student leaders selected Principal Bruce Plato to be grand marshal of the parade in honor of his retirement at the end of the school year. The Lakers take on their cross-town rivals, the Lakeridge Pacers, in the football game at the LOHS field Friday beginning at 7 p.m. Lakers are planning to wear pink in honor of Think Pink week.Making up the homecoming court are from left, Darby Buhlman, Sophia Fish, Blair Cozois, Mitra LeBuhn, Fiona Byrne, Sarah Sutton, Kelsey Campbell, Ashley McCalpin and Abby Castle.

The queen will be crowned during halftime of the football game.

The fourth annual Laker Cheer pancake breakfast will take place Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the LOHS East gym. Tickets are $5 each and are available from all the cheerleaders and at the door.
