History behind closed doors

Sunday, Sept. 25, classic buildings in Forest Grove will open up and shed their past
by: Chase Allgood This year, a house located at the intersection of 18th Avenue and Elm Street, which once housed the Alpha Zeta and Gamma Sigma fraternities, will be part of a historic home tour.

Ever wonder what lurked behind the facade of an old building in Forest Grove?

Next Sunday, Sept. 25, is your chance to find out.

That's when the Friends of Historic Forest Grove will hold its annual tour of historic homes in the city.

The tour (which can be done by foot or by car), will take participants on a ride through Forest Grove's past.

Tickets are available the day of the event, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 1936 19th Ave. Admission is $12, admission for members of Friends of Historic Forest Grove and past members of the Alpha Zeta or Gamma Sigma frats is $6. Children are free.
