They married at the Grace Memorial Episcopal Church, which was candlelit and the music was provided by a piano due to no electricity. The bride and groom were so happy of the occasion that they didn’t understand the full impact of the storm.

The couple met while they were both attending the University of Oregon and settled in Lake Oswego. Mrs. Winston pursued her dream of teaching and retired from OES about 12 years ago. Mr. Winston has had his own graphic design business for more than 45 years. They enjoy spending time with family, friends and their schnauzer, Holly.

The couple raised three children, Kimberly Grand of France, Leslie Bridwell of Lake Oswego and Toby Winston of Portland. They have four grandchildren, Chris and Emily Grand, and Olivia and Harrison Bridwell.
