Troutdale museum openings

WHAT: The Troutdale Historical Society's three museums will be open. The Barn Museum features a collection of items that were on display during Edgefield's 100th anniversary celebration; the Harlow House features a display of vintage hats and ruby glass; and the Depot Museum has railroad memorabilia.

WHEN: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17.

WHERE: The Barn Museum, the Harlow House and the Rail Depot Museum along Historic Columbia River Highway, Troutdale.

COST: Donations are accepted.

St. George Middle Eastern Festival

WHAT: This 34th annual festival celebrates the community's heritage, with proceeds going to support church projects. The event includes live music and dancing, Middle Eastern food and drink, children's events, church tours and icons, jewelry, books and CDs for sale.

WHEN: Noon to 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18.

WHERE: St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 2101 N.E. 162nd Ave., Portland.
