David and Peggy Jeans celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Celebration continues Sunday during church's coffee mingle
The 50th wedding anniversary of David and Peggy Jeans of Sherwood was celebrated with a family gathering with dinner in the Cascade dining room and an overnight stay at Timberline Lodge. The celebration continued with the church family at Calvin Presbyterian Church in Tigard during Sunday morning coffee mingle.
David Jeans and Peggy Johnston were married Aug. 27, 1961, in Westminster Presbyterian Church in Portland.
David Jeans graduated from Lincoln High School in 1954, and Peggy Johnston graduated from Grant High School in 1957.
Mr. Jeans served in the Army for two years and then attended Lewis and Clark College, where he met Peggy Johnston. They both graduated from the college in 1961.
Mr. Jeans taught health and physical education at Cleveland High School in Portland for 30 years. He also coached several sports. He retired in 1992.
Mrs. Jeans taught first and second grades in the Sherwood School District, retiring in 1998.
Today, the couple enjoys the family farm with its Scotch highlander cattle, apple orchard and vegetable and flower gardens.
Their other interests include traveling, playing bridge and church activities at Calvin Presbyterian Church in Tigard.
They have two children: daughter Sarah Agsten and her husband Mark of Roseburg and Michael Jeans and his wife Rondi of Sherwood; and four grandchildren.
