Car crash knocks out power
Over 5,000 Columbia River PUD customers lost power Tuesday morning after a Rainier women reportedly fell asleep at the wheel on Highway 30 and crashed into a cable stabalizing a power pole.
Oregon State Police say around 7:26 a.m. on Sept. 13, Pamela Somers, 57, was traveling south on Highway 30 in the left lane near Warren. The vehicle reportedly drifted across the lanes, struck a road sign and then the cable. Overhead power lines dropped onto Berg Road, hindering traffic. Power was fully restored in about two hours.
Somers was sent to the hospital with minor injuries.
